Objectives
The main objective of Breakpoint is to show how people in- and outside
–people of different religious, ethnical, and political background
–people in different roles as owner, leader, manager, or staff
member –men and women- young and old- together can translate
words into deeds and find generally accepted, efficient, and praised
routes towards more integration and equality in life.
The work is taking place at a broad front in the society and organizations
to liberate the energy and the possibilities and to facilitate integration,
diversity, democracy and equality in everyday life and in the near
environment of people.
The activities of Breakpoint aim at inspiring, organizing, preparing,
running, and evaluating ’Breakpoint Conferences’. The
purpose of these conferences is to promote integration, diversity,
democracy, and equality in life.
The Breakpoint Conference is based on the Future Search method –
a unique conference format used all over the world during the last
30 years in private and public operations and in international ventures.
There are many and tangible effects on different levels –individual,
system, society.
For the implementation phase May 2005- October 2007 our targets
are
• To run about 30 Breakpoint Conferences
• To initiate more than 500 tangible actions as projects and
measurable change
• Have more than 100 000 persons participate in this work,
collaborating in ongoing actions and/or having an influence on the
effects
• Involve all stekeholders in the process of integration in
working life
The strategy and focus in the project Breakpoint changed when the
European Social Fund declined the applcation for Equal, in November
2004. The work with Breakpoint is now performed in two different
but integrated processes. The first one is the expansion of the
Development Partnership, the other one is the implementation of
Frame-work conferences. |
